Project Details:
Interstate 81 Exit 44 (Plainfield) Improvement Project
SR 0081 Section 019 and SR 0465 Section 003
Located in the Borough of Carlisle and Dickinson, South Middleton, North Middleton, and West Pennsboro Townships
The PA Department of Transportation has advanced engineering and design plans to imporve the I-81
Plainfield interchange and add additional travel and turn lanes on SR 465 from Walnut Bottom Road to Newville Road.
Approximately 90 properties are affected by the construction. Interstate Acquisition Services received a Notice to
Proceed in March 2006 and is to provide Right of Way clearance by June 2007 with an August 2007 letting.
Construction activities are projected to continue through 2009.
